Hello and thank you for your interest in my work!
I have an inherent curiosity and passion for understanding the unique perspectives and experiences of each individual and couple I work with. This allows me to create a safe, non-judgmental space where healing and growth can flourish. As a counselor, my goal is to be a collaborative and interactive partner in your journey, using your feedback alongside my knowledge and skills to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and/or your relationship.
We will explore the roots of your presenting concerns, delving into your past—including your childhood—while also focusing on how these issues manifest in your current adult relationships. Together, we will identify coping strategies, raise awareness around habitual and reactive behaviors, and process life events that have shaped who you are today. You will also receive homework and tools to use outside our sessions to reinforce and deepen the work we do in a sustainable way.
I work from a trauma-informed, mindfulness-based, and holistic perspective, moving through our work with intention. I particularly enjoy helping clients foster the connection between the mind and body, drawing from my background in yoga teacher training to support this integrative approach.
My personal experiences have also shaped my passion for this work. My father is a Sri Lankan immigrant, and my mother is white American. Growing up in Arizona, I navigated the complexities of being bi-racial and bi-cultural, often feeling like I didn’t fully belong in either culture. This sense of isolation led me to a deep interest in working with minority groups and those who feel like they exist at the intersection of multiple identities.
at mindful vision counseling, we understand that taking the first step towards mental and emotional wellness can be challenging.
