You've tried therapy before, and it didn't help. You've taken medications, but they didn't seem to fix how you were feeling. Some days it just seems easier to stay in bed with the curtains drawn, so you don't have to face the world. I know how frustrating that feels, to have "lost" something from the way you used to be and to not know what it is exactly, that you've lost - to feel incomplete in some way and to not have the words to describe exactly what you are experiencing. I've helped hundreds of people, who have been in the same situation. Many have told me that I am the first therapist, who has actually helped them.

I know that making that initial phone call is a difficult thing to do, but don't give up just yet. All therapies are not equal. Most of my clients tell me after only a few short months that they no longer need my help, and this is my aim as a therapist - to give you the tools you need to fly solo. I look forward to getting to know you.

My approach is influenced by both my military career as a retired Army Flight Medical NCO for seventeen years and as a Counseling / Training and Development Professional.

Over the last 25+ years, I have had the honor and privilege of hearing and learning from many different people. These lives and stories have greatly influenced how I assess, incorporate complex differential diagnoses, and provide treatment with tailored modalities in dealing with the stress response (a.k.a. "fight, flight or freeze"), complex injury, and illness (anxiety, fear, depression, grief, loss, shame, anger, trauma, moral injury, challenges with spirituality, substances up to a degree, etc.) within special patient populations.

With empathic yet honest communication, I support adolescents and adults, taking advantage of the Socratic method and person-centered and eclectic therapies in session. I take a Christian perspective but am comfortable counseling individuals of all faiths. My specialty populations include couples, college students and those suffering from anxiety.

It is my belief that every human deserves to feel safe, cared for, understood and respected. It would be an honor to collaborate with you in doing my part in helping to make that happen.

Virtual counseling can be the perfect platform for us to become a team and work on your goals in a convenient, safe space. We have the very real advantage of being able to meet up from day one in a place of ease, comfort and hope.

People have the unending capacity to heal, cope, and change their lives even through life’s most difficult challenges. It is common to feel alone, isolated, and hopeless when a health condition becomes chronic. Not knowing when/if things will improve or hearing that your medical team has nothing more to offer can be devastating.

I have a passion for helping individuals cope and find peace in the midst of living with physical health conditions. I use integrative therapeutic practices, including evidence-based psychotherapy, to meet each individual where they are in life. I take a holistic approach to consider the mind-body interaction and utilize techniques such as clinical hypnosis and mindfulness to help individuals reduce stress and manage chronic pain.
